Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off Procedures:
1. School Bus Loading and Unloading Zone:
Buses will park in the inside (right) lane of the main drop-off and pick-up loop closest to the school.
The main pick-up and drop-off lanes WILL NOT be used for student pick-up and drop-off.
The outside (left) lane is designated for through traffic exiting the school.
2. Student Pick-up and Drop-off loading zone.
Before and after school, the parent drop-off and pick-up location will only be in the lower Kindergarten parking loop.
Please see the map for specific loading and unloading zones.
3. Kindergarten Students:
Carpool students will wait inside the fenced off kindergarten playground area.
Students taking the bus will be escorted to the bus loading zone in front of the school.
4. Parking Lot:
By removing the school buses from this location, the parking will now function as a typical parking lot.
Please note that there is no rolling student pick-up or drop off from the parking lot. For students to enter or exit a car, the car must be parked in an actual parking stall and accompanied by an adult into the school.
5. Walking Students:
For students who walk to school, please use the marked pedestrian crossings and follow the guidance of our crossing guards.

Back to School Night:
We want to invite you to our Back to School Night for 1st-6th grade students on Monday, August 11 from 4:00-5:30pm. You can meet your child’s teacher, explore the school, set up lunch accounts, and ask any questions you may have. Come anytime between 4:00-5:30.
The Preschool and Kindergarten Back to School will be on Monday, August 18 from 1:30 - 2:30 pm.
First Day of School:
The first day of school for 1st-6th grade is Wednesday, August 13th. School starts at 9:15 am. A warning bell will sound at 9:10 and again at 9:15. Students should not arrive at school before 8:55am. They will not be let into the school till 9:10 with the first bell. Breakfast will be served starting at 8:55-9:10.
The first day of school for Kindergarten is Tuesday, August 19th.
The first day of school for Preschool is Wednesday, August 20th.
Class Placements:
Teacher assignments will be available via Skyward by the end of day today, Friday, August 8th for 1st-6th grade and by Monday, August 18 for kindergarten students. Go to the “Student Info” button on the left side under Home and look in the Schedule or Gradebook tab to see the teacher name. For DLI students, your homeroom teacher is listed under “Attendance”. If you are new to the district and need your Skyward login and password, contact the office at (801) 610-8726.
Keep in mind a tremendous effort has gone into student placements. We utilize the previous year's teacher team to provide insight on the next year's classes. They work closely together to provide input on how to best balance classes. When creating classes, we take a comprehensive approach. Classes are built around academic abilities, student’s social and emotional needs, gender, schooling skills, student support needs (like IEPs and 504s), and many other considerations. We ask you to honor our process and trust the effort that has gone into placements. If there is a concern with a placement, I would invite you to visit with the teacher regarding your concern and allow them the opportunity to address this before coming to the administration. If after visiting with the teacher you feel like your student’s needs can’t be met, please email administration.
Riverview Information App (Newsletter):
The district has redesigned their website along with each individual school’s websites.
As part of the transition, there is now an app for parents to download that will send you notifications of events coming up or important information and updates.
To download the app, please visit https://riverview.alpineschools.org/, scroll all the way to the bottom and click to download the apple app or the android app. There should not be a need to login, it should automatically log you into the correct school.
Instead of a weekly newsletter this year, all information, updates, events, will be posted on our website and pushed through on the app.
Please check our website https://riverview.alpineschools.org/ and calendar often to stay informed also. Many frequently asked questions are answered there.

Parents need to log in and complete the Student Annual Information Update in Skyward.
We apologize that some student accounts were disabled a few days earlier than we anticipated.
You can unlock your student's account by logging into Skyward as a parent (not as a student) and completing the Student Annual Information Update.

The update must be done on a computer, not a mobile device. It may take several hours after the update to for accounts to be fully available.
